| February 27:
Lion, lamb, lion, lamb. It was March in February. One minute it was calm as
a lamb and the next minute it was gusting up big time. Probably the pressure
was between 8 and 14 knots, 90 percent of the time, but there were certainly
lulls under 8 and gusts over 14. The direction was WSW for the most part.
We used a sailboat for a weather mark and a set ball as a leeward and had
lots of choices for reach marks including one race up the channel. The last
race used the gong as our leeward. Nobody capsized, but there were plenty of
sailors bailing. |
