| February 6:
Superbowl Sunday and great frostbiting weather. The harbor was clear of
almost all ice with only very minor patches of slush. The wind was
challenging out of the north at 12-14 knots with subtle gusts and shifts.
Helping Hans on the committee boat was Mike Gale and we got a bonus race
today (had to adjust the spreadsheet for six races). Bob and Peter were tied
going into race 5, but the downwind start and a flagrant foul took Bob out of
the running in that race. On the last race (reaches out to the gong and
back), Nelson turned on the jets and managed to edge out Peter for a win in
the last race and for third on the day (Peter and Bob having wrapped up one
and two and Nelson winning the tiebreaker with Gordon). |
