November 16: The season
started with a light air day with the wind out of the northwest at 4-8 knots.
Mike Brown and Hans ran the committee boat and completed five races.
Chuck started strong with two wins and held on for the victory with 8 points.
Peter had no wins, but was able to throw a fourth for second with 10. Tim and
Nelson tied for third with exactly the same four scores, but Tim broke the tie
by winning the last race. The other two races were won by Nelson (his first in
many years) and Rollie who was one point behind Tim and Nelson for fourth. The
key for today was staying in the wind. On several occasions boats only a few boatlengths
apart had completely different wind and passes up and downwind were quite common.
Twelve boats participated.
